Planking vs Tebowing
2 Crazy fads that I feel like I’ve been a little ouch of touch with since I’ve been traveling, but now I realize that its all over the world.
Planking became very popular in earlier this year. Its simple, people lay face down in a strange place while someone else takes a picture. Then you post it somewhere on the internet and everyone can see who can come up with the best planking pictures.

Now it seems a new fad is taking shape, its called Tebowing. Its the same concept with a different pose, that being of mocking Tim Tebow. The Denver Broncos’s quarterback is known for being very religious. He can often being found in a crouched position praying during NFL football games.

Tebowing is much easier to do, doesn’t require getting your clothes dirty and looks more natural. Will Tebowing replace the Planking fad worldwide or will the NFL quarterback’s popularity stay contained in America?
2011 Pattaya International Softball Tourney
Spent the weekend playing with the Bangkok Softball team in the international softball tournament down in Pattaya near the beach. The annual softball tourney is usually held in Bangkok, but because of the flooding they moved it south.
We finished 4th after being eliminated by the Korea Guzzlers who we beat in the 1st round of the double elimination playoffs. The Guzzlers were hot on the 3rd day went on to play the undefeated San Diego Fattboyz in the finals. However, Jeff Hall and the Fattboyz were not able to hold off the Korea team and the Guzzlers took the trophy with back to back wins.
Here are the 12 teams that competed this year.

As a life long vampire movie fan, I’ve been quite discouraged with all of the sappy and lame vampire movies and shows out there in recent years. I miss the days of movies like Lost Boys and From Dust til Dawn, where vampires were something to truly be feared and not some pale skinny boyfriend wanna be lover.
Then came Fright Night.
While I wouldn’t put Fright Night in the same category as some of the best vampire movies of our time, I will say that its starting to take vampires movies back into the direction they need to be.
The cast did a good job, I enjoyed the movie, and best of all, it was filmed in Las Vegas. Oh how I miss the rock yards and cookie cutter houses that are less than 10 feet apartment. The fake tan blonde big breasted girls in cheap corsets and that glaring hot 119 degree sun in the summer time.
But what was up with that sexy blonde neighbor they could only show 60 seconds of in the beginning of the flick? Juicy indeed!
I just watched a movie called Another Earth…it really got me thinking.
I really enjoyed the movie, but for those of you who haven’t seen it, here is a brief summary.
Another Earth appears in the sky one day, the same day a 17 year old girl who just got accept to a top university. After leaving a house party, drunk, she wrecks into another car, killing a pregnant wife, son, and putting the father into a coma. She is later sentence to 4 years in prison. She gets out, and is really confused, a change person.
Anyway, I don’t really want to spoil the rest, but I will talk a little about my feelings after watching the movie.
I feel like I have a lot of love to give, but its almost like I set my standards so high that I never find anyone qualified enough to give my love too. Love means different things to different people. I discovered what it was about 15 months ago for the first time in my life, and it wasn’t lust, it wasn’t puppy love, it wasn’t even one particular person.
Loving another person is giving them total honesty. Giving them complete interest and caring deeply. Now, I know what sounds very cliche, so let me explain this in more detail. But before I do, I want you to realize what I’m really saying here.
Complete honesty. Ask yourself, do you know what that really means? Have you ever given someone complete honesty? 3 years ago I would of read this and been like sure… ya, whatever, I have. But I hadn’t. I was blind to what it really is. Maybe complete honesty is only part of what I’m trying to say.
Have you ever looked into someone’s eyes with complete interest in who they are, completely care about them, and felt like nothing else in the world was more important than the time you are both sharing. All you wanted to do was sit there next to each other and talk about your feelings, your ideas, your dreams, your future, and at the same time, have the other person feel the exact same way?

Now what did all of that have to do with the movie? The actress delivered a great role in this film. She was so real and caring that it made me want to meet her character. While watching this movie, I wanted to sit next to her and talk about everything because I knew I would get a true and genuine response. I felt like she would truly listen to what I had to say. Most people are just nodding in recognition to you as they are really thinking about what they want to say next.
Partying at a Roof top bar in Bangkok. Pretty sick party, 40 floors high, overlooking all of Bangkok.
